Edmund Gooden, the founder of Sacred Grove, has long held a deep connection to the natural world. His love for nature began with birdwatching as a boy and evolved into significant work in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands during the 1990s and beyond. During this time, he developed profound friendships, including with one Elder who, after years of working together, shared wisdom that would change the course of Edmund’s life: “Now that you understand the spirit of this plant, you must share it with the wider community, with the world.” This moment set Edmund on a journey, and Sacred Grove was born from that inspiration—a place dedicated to cultivating and celebrating the beauty of unique plants like sandalwood, native pine, and especially one sacred desert plant.

From this vision, the Desert Survivor Range of products was created, with more exciting additions on the horizon. Edmund’s passion for offering these special plants to the world is a continuation of his commitment to the preservation of Anangu Pitjantjatjara culture and the natural heritage of the land.
